Be sure to check out the East Coast handlaunch Glider Festival in the Fall. It's the season finale for the Eastern Soaring League. From September 26-28, 2008 our field hosts some of the best pilots on the East Coast as they compete for top positions in the ESL.
Don't be intimidated if you've never been
in a Hand Launch Glider contest. We have classes for differing skill
levels. All the guys are super-friendly and will gladly lend a fellow
pilot a hand learning the ropes. Our contest actually has a pre-contest
day as well. That Friday, we usually try to have something special planned.
This year's special event will be a World Air Games qualifier and also
a beginners DLG workshop with ace pilot, Bruce Davidson. As always there's
plenty of time to just hang out and meet folks or fly, fly, fly!
Lunch and drinks will be provided on Saturday
and Sunday for $5 donation for each day.
To register go to the ESL website and find
our contest! Visit the "our field"
DESS site page for driving instructions. Pilot's meeting is at 9 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday.
To get up to the minute info and chat about the contest you can post questions in our forum, but the main conversation will be going on in our ECHLGF thread in the handlaunch forum on rcgroups.com.
